Meet the Experts Behind the Fellowship
Prof. Ege Can Şerefoğlu
Prof. Ege Can Şerefoğlu, MD, PhD, FECSM is an internationally recognized authority in andrology and sexual medicine, currently serving as Professor of Urology. A graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, he completed his urology residency in Ankara and further strengthened his academic profile with a PhD in Embryology and Histology. His international experience includes academic appointments and research activity in the United States, as well as visiting professorships across Europe. Prof. Şerefoğlu has played an active role in shaping global sexual medicine through his leadership within the European Association of Urology (EAU), European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM), and the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), where he has contributed to guideline panels, scientific committees, and educational programs.
With an extensive publication record in high-impact international journals and authorship of multiple book chapters in leading urology and sexual medicine textbooks, Prof. Şerefoğlu is widely regarded as a key opinion leader in erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory disorders, male infertility, and prosthetic urology. He has served as editor and reviewer for numerous top-tier journals and has received multiple international awards recognizing his scientific contributions. His academic rigor, surgical expertise, and global leadership make him one of the most influential figures in contemporary andrology.
Dr. Yaşar Başaga
Dr. Yaşar Başağa, MD, FEBU is an Assistant Professor of Urology and an internationally active andrologist specializing in advanced male sexual and reproductive surgery. A graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, he completed his urology residency at Erciyes University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Stem Cell Sciences, reflecting his strong commitment to translational and regenerative medicine research. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (EAU) and an active member of major international scientific societies including the EAU, ESSM, and ISSM.
Dr. Başağa’s clinical and academic focus centers on erectile dysfunction surgery, penile prosthesis implantation, premature ejaculation interventions, male infertility, and regenerative therapies. His growing international publication portfolio includes original research in prosthetic urology, selective dorsal surgical interventions, stem cell therapy, and innovative penile enhancement techniques. With a unique integration of surgical precision and regenerative medicine expertise, Dr. Başağa represents a new-generation academic surgeon dedicated to advancing contemporary andrology through both clinical excellence and scientific innovation.
